Default November 2009 Week Three (Top Ten)

Welcome back to another exciting week of my top ten list of the week. The influx of tunes has not slowed down one bit. I spend so much time each week going through hundreds of tracks trying to pick out those that should be on your radar. I hope everyone has been enjoying the selections that I have been choosing. This week sees the release of a lot of electro house tunes. I call it the ravers delight as it brings out a lot of the raver and tech kids to the dance floor. There are a few familiar faces as well as some new artists to add to the music pile. Enjoy.

Coming in at number one this week, is one of my favorite new artists this year. Victoria Christina Hesketh, better known as Little Boots returns to my top ten for the week with her newest tune “Earthquake”. Little Boots has been tearing up the UK charts all year. I still listen to “Remedy” all the time. She is a delight to listen to and to watch. If you have not listened to any of her tunes, I suggest you get to it. She continually amazes. Take a listen to her newest.

1. Little Boots – Earthquake (Treasure Fingers Epic Wave Remix)

The next artist brings us to the dance/house side for the number two slot for the week. The group is called “Project 61”. Other than those two pieces of information. That is all I have on this artist. The song is called “Closer”. There is not much on the lyric side. It is pretty much beat driven, but can really drive those house heads and raver kids out on the floor.

2. Project 61 – Closer (Club Mix)

England born Amy Pearson comes in at number three. Raised in Australia, her last song “Don’t Miss You” burned up the Aussie charts. She makes her return this week with another pleaser called “Butterfingers”. The release of this song was delayed for a month and is just now entering the charts. I look forward to it gliding towards the top ten in the next few weeks. This latest tune gets the “Wawa” remix treatment to it.

3. Amy Pearson – Butterfingers (Wawa Remix)

Julien Ranouil has been pumping out some wonderful Euro House over the last couple of years. You are more than likely to recognize him by his artist name “Pakito”. I have liked everything he has put out, even though the majority of his tunes continues with the same hook and beats. I don’t care. I still love listening to it. Pakito’s latest tune is called “Harmony”. Again, the beat is very reminiscent of the “Living on Video” beat, but again, I love it.

4. Pakito – Harmony (Club Mix)

Taking the mid-point slot of the week is an artist that goes by “Electrodyamics”. The song “Bleep Me Down” is a very upbeat electro house style of tune. Like the number two song of the week, this is a good “beat only” type of tune. There are no lyrics, just some good hard stomping floor pounding beats. You crank this one up a few notches and I swear the tech heads and raver kids will be out tearing up the floor. I played this one semi-close to the Project 61 tune up above and it got some great responses.

5. Electrodynamics – Bleep Me Down (Bubblegum Mix)

The minute I saw the title of this next tune, I knew I had to listen to it. I think I saw this one in the forums a week or so ago and had commented on the interesting title the song was given. The artist is called Hard Boys and the song is “Fuck is Funny”. This one is more on the electro house side. Another floor stomper that got some great reviews over the weekend. Great tune. More on the beat than the lyrics. Enjoy.

6. Hard Boys – Fuck is Funny (Stefy De Cicco Remix Extended)

I knew it wouldn’t be long for this next artist to make my list. I think of her as the stable one out of the cadre of crazy family members. Janet Jackson is slowly making her return to the public eye after the death of her brother Michael. You know the story. I wont dwell on that. I have been a big fan of hers since her “Rhythm Nation” days. This tune did start making its rounds a few weeks back, but I could not find a remix that set right with me. Finally, Dave Aude took a stab at it and made it one that I liked and would remember.

7. Janet – Make Me (Dave Aude Club Mix)

Next up is the newest tune by Lange. Lange has been around for quite awhile. I remember hearing them just after I started deejaying and began playing their stuff continually on my dance radio show as well as it the club. This time Lange is paired up with Sarah Howells, which also gets the Ronski Speed mix. I can never turn down either Lange or a Ronski remix of a tune. This tune starts with a nice trance-like flow and then works it self into a nice hard dance rhythm.

8. Lange Featuring Sarah Howells – Let it all out (Ronski Speed Remix)

The number nine tune is one of those that I can listen to and it makes my mind wander. Sometimes it wanders to a good place and other times it wanders to a not so good place. Saying that, I don’t mean this a bad tune. It wouldn’t make it into my list if it wasn’t a good tune to listen to. This one is total melody. There are no words, just the flow of a great electro house tune brought to you by Breana and Dustin Skiles. This one gets the Trevor Flynn Remix.

9. Breana and Dustin Skiles – A Little Love (Trevor Flynn Remix)

Finally, securing the number ten spot of the week is a tune by Danny Howells. Danny’s music is often described as progressive house, though he prefers to associate more with tech house. Danny hails from Hastings in England and got his start by being the dj warm up for the ever popular Digweed. In 2008, Danny began his own record label titled “Dig Deeper”. The tune I present to you this week by Howells is called “Right Off”. If you listen closely to the beat you can almost hear the “Blue Monday” like sound by New Order. That is probably why I migrated to this tune since I am a huge New Order fan.

10. Danny Howells – Right Off (Casio Social Club Mix)

And that wraps up another week. Next week I will wrap up the month of November. All tunes can be located at the link below. Tell me what you think. For those in the states, have a great Thanksgiving.

Amy: In any case, I'm here because my mother and I have agreed that I will date at least once a year.
Sheldon: Interesting. My mother and I have the same agreement about church.
Amy: I don't object to the concept of a deity, but I'm baffled by the notion of one that takes attendance.
Sheldon: Well, then you might want to avoid East Texas.
